Nelson Holiday/Convalescent Home

Renovations were completed in our Nelson home in July 2023. Take a look at these before and after pictures.

BEFORE: The lounge was dated and with the separate dining room, it was overdue a makeover.

AFTER: With the lounge area opened up, a lot more light now streams in. The more modern design now flows into the dining area and kitchen, making a huge difference to the living areas of the Nelson home.

AFTER: The renovation included a new shower and vanity unit, plus a modern panelled floor.

Booking and Cancellation Policy

Members can book up to seven consecutive nights. Bookings can be made up to six months in advance. Cancellations will attract a $25 administration fee. Where less than 28 days’ notice is given, payment may not be refunded. Generally, there will be a 50% refund for cancellation from 29 to 56 days out from the rental period. There may be very sound reasons for needing to cancel a booking and those reasons will be considered, however, all refund decisions will be final.

When vacating convalescent/holiday homes, please ensure:

  • All carpeted floor coverings have been vacuumed.
  • All lino floor coverings have been washed.
  • All toilets have been cleaned.
  • All hand basins/bath/showers have been cleaned.
  • The kitchen is left clean and tidy. Benches wiped down, food removed from fridge/freezer, microwave wiped out, hobs cleaned, fridge wiped out, dish washer emptied.
  • All rubbish/recycling has been put in the necessary bins provided.
  • No washing is left in the machine (please wash any cleaning cloths/tea towels and leave to dry in the laundry room or garage.)
  • Beds are left in a tidy state (duvets pulled up and straight, pillows in the right place).
  • Everything you have used is returned to its original place.
  • You have taken all your belongings with you.
  • You have closed all windows and shades and locked all doors.
  • Please remember to leave any keys in the lock box or where you found them.

NB. We have caretakers who help us look after our homes but they are not cleaners. If you have left the home in an untidy state, you will be charged for cleaning.
