The United Fire Brigades’ Association represents and provides services for over 14,000 members within the fire and emergency services sector. This includes all FENZ volunteer fire brigades.
UFBA’s core services for its members are:
Individual advocacy and support through disputes, conflict and complaints
UFBA Service Honours for 3, 5, 25 (Gold Star), 40, 50 and 60 years, plus silver and gold bars
Financial support through the Benevolent Fund
ACC Top-Up Scheme to cover the remaining 20% of income if injured during FENZ duties
Four challenges that showcase firefighter skills, while supporting camaraderie and networking – Waterway, Firefighter Challenge, Drivers and Road Crash Rescue
Leadership training for current and future brigade leaders
Training for non-operational roles such as secretaries and treasurers
The largest annual conference for firefighters to connect and develop
Sector advocacy to be a unified voice for the members to drive positive sector change
To support FENZ working and reference groups with members as UFBA representatives
These services are free for all UFBA members, covered by the annual subscription paid by member brigades.
