We wish to thank all members who took the time to cast their vote for the location of a replacement Kapiti Home. There was a good response, and the survey results are in.
403 members voted to purchase a property in the Kapiti area again and 532 members voted for a townhouse in the Wellington central area.
The Property Committee of the NZ Firefighters Welfare Society will now begin working on finding a suitable financially viable replacement within the central Wellington area or surrounding suburbs where you can enjoy all that Wellington has to offer. This is also dependent on availability in an ever-changing real estate market.
Earlier in the year we stopped taking bookings for the existing Kapiti convalescent/holiday home and these bookings will end in February next year. Our intention is to place the Kapiti home on the market early in the new year and the sale of this property will allow us to purchase the new home.
